Poetry Contest5th Grade Inhalant Abuse PreventionFirst PlaceReese HooverLarkin Bailey Elementary Teacher: Mrs. Newton Owasso A Drug Free Life There was a boy who liked to sniff paint. He sniffed the fumes until he would faint. His death was a surprise. Mom had tears in her eyes. All along she thought he was a saint Second PlaceMelissa MorinLarkin Bailey Elementary Teacher: Mrs. Newton Owasso Don't Do Drugs Do you know, do you know How bad drugs are for you? Well, get a life, Hello! They could hurt you too. So use your head, Be safe and sound And don't wind up brain dead So why do kids do drugs you ask? Peer pressure that what it is. Well, really they are just putting on a death mask. Also when you do drugs you will never be ready for a quiz. So remember all the things I have told you and Don't Do Drugs! Third PlaceKelsey ManningLarkin Bailey Elementary Teacher: Mrs. Newton Owasso The Mistake of a Lifetime Drugs aren't smart They play the wrong part. Inhalants are stupid They don't get hit by cupid. Many people who wish to be cool End up only being a fool. They shoot-up, they huff, they drink and they smoke They're confused to believe that it's all just a joke. They loose all their money, their family, they're house And everything left including their spouse. The final result of the mistake they have made Is the price of their life, in which must be paid. And when sadly they go to meet their maker They will find it's hot to live with the baker. |
